AUGUST RECOMMENDATIONS

*Cue August by Taylor Swift*

We are jam-packed this month with all the recommendations from your favourite Brisbane + Melbourne people!

Overview of August Recommendations

Ladro in Fitzroy

Ladro, Fitzroy — Em

Yummy Italian with so many

vegan options!

Hochi Mama, Richmond — Ari

Down the road from the studio, so good!

Tofu stir-fry + coco rice are the best food I’ve had in ages.

Neighbourhood Wine, Fitzroy — Lauren

Cosiest, cutest wine bar with an open fireplace so get in before Winter’s end.

Lilac Wine Bar, Cremorne — Ruby

FAV place in Melbourne, you need to go there.

They have a disco ball. Enough said!

Old Gold Peanut Brittle — Sophia

"I think I've made it its own food group"

Health Lab Balls — Brooke

I've been obsessing over the birthday cake flavour; there are gluten-free + vegan options.

READY FOR A COUPLE OF RECIPES... need to put them on your list YUM!

Naomi's new obsession: a shot of espresso with ice + coconut water

Alicia's mid-afternoon pick-me-up:

  • 1 scoop of protein

  • Handful of mixed berries

  • Handful of mango

  • Handful of frozen spinach

  • 1 banana

  • A teaspoon of peanut/ almond butter

  • Ice + cold water

Down for Love (Netflix) * TEAM FAV *

An adorable, heartwarming watch (couldn't stop smiling the whole time!)

Heartstopper Season 2 (on Netflix) — Ari

So well written + acted, genuinely an amazing show (P.S. Scott wants a 'Heartstopper' theme ride soon so keep an ear out for the soundtrack)

Below Deck AU (on Amazon Prime) — Em

The new season is amazing, such a good show

Red, White, and Royal Blue (on Amazon Prime) — Holly

Such a lighthearted, sweet movie — I’ve watched it twice already!

Lost Flowers of Alice Hart (on Amazon Prime) — Grace

My friend told me about it as she's read the book, it's been turned into a mini-series.

It's Australian, a bit full-on sometimes but the ending is unreal and a really beautiful story of strong women.

Sentimental in the City PODCAST — Alicia

Recommended by Annabel, a mini-series podcast by Sentimental Garbage.

Six-episode deep dive and nostalgia trip of 'Sex and the City' and all of its glory and cringe moments. It’s super easy to have on in the background — feels like you’re talking with friends, it’s hilarious!

‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ series by Sarah J. Mass

Holly, Tyra, Jessie + Esther have started a mini book club this month to read this fantasy series. (Should we start an INSPIRE Book Club? We'll get the girls' review)

Lighter by Yung Pueblo — Courtney

Have followed him on Instagram for years and his books are incredible — filled with such beautiful messages!

We have some SERIOUS hair recommendations this month — have to start prepping for that Summer humidity!

Left to Right:

1) ROBE HAIRCARE

ARI: Australian haircare made and created by an inspiring woman who’s also the best hairdresser

2) SEBASTIAN POTION 1

SOPHIA: Keeps my mane silky and shiny but not greasy

3) ELEVEN HAIR

LAUREN: Their whole range but especially the Miracle Hair treatment (15 minutes and you're good to go)

4) KERASTASE CURLY HAIR RANGE

RUBY: Their curly range has saved my dry/ frizzy curls — on the exxy side but the conditioner and the curl cream are so worth it.

5) WELLA LUX OIL

BROOKE: It's a heat protectant with added Keratin (keeps the flyaways at bay!)

A FEW MORE BECAUSE WE COULD GO ON FOREVER:

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 Shoes — Em

Sambas are out, these are in!

Haven’t taken them off since I bought them two weeks ago.

LMS Elle Wedges — Courtney

I have them in green + blue and am desperate to get the pink + beige as well! Very 90's energy but they are really comfortable and always love a bit of height. Super fun show for Summer/ Spring

Bali Body Gradual Face Tanner — Alicia

$30 from Woolies and it's the perfect glow to get you to summer!

Put it on after your SPF for a dewy finish *we love*

Brazilian Bum Bum Cream *TEAM FAV*

The scent is everything!

PHEW...AND WE'RE ALL OUT!

We hope you loved these recommendations this month.

Leave yours in the comments (always need the insider goss on what's good!)
