GET TO KNOW YOUR INSTRUCTORS
Get to know Inspire's newest addition to the boxing room!
Some of you may know Christian as the brother of former Rumble Room instructor, Casey. With pretty big shoes to fill in the InspireBox community, we promise that Christian definitely lives up to his brothers reputation, and the energy he brings to class is next level 🔥.
He's one of the kindest people you'll meet - but don't let that fool you! He'll make sure that you get the results you want and also that you leave class knowing you gave it your all.
If a laid back and funny instructor is your vibe, Christian is your new go-to man! Get to know him a little better below.
Christian, tell us a little bit about you!
Hello Inspire fam! My name's Christian and I was born in Sydney with New Zealander parents. I've always been a sporty kid and loved to throw the footy around with my massive family (I'm one of 14 kids!).
Describe yourself in three words.
Funny. Caring. Shy
How did you get into boxing? Also specifically how did you get into boxing at Inspire?
I first started boxing in my backyard, and mostly got into it because I was excited to learn self defence at a young age. I was introduced to Inspire through my brother Casey and my mate Jonte (who's also an instructor at Inspire 🥊). I attended one of Inspire's classes with them when Casey was visiting from Sydney - Casey really encouraged me to apply for an instructor role. He was really excited for me to start my instructing journey at Inspire where he did!
As Casey’s brother, you’ve got some big shoes to fill in the Inspire box community! What is the best piece of advice he’s given you about becoming an instructor?
Casey’s advice to me was just to be myself. The Inspire community is so warm and welcoming. They loved Casey (and many people think of us as twins), so being authentically me has been a great way for me to understand what he loved so much about the community.
What is it that you love about the Inspire Box community?
I love that I’m helping the community with their fitness goals. Not only that, but I also love that I can give people a little bit of self defence knowledge - I think this is super important! Knowing that each boxing class I'm able to pass on everything that I've been taught about self defence and also technique is something that's really special to me.
What’s inspiring you in life right now?
Recently I was selected to Represent New Zealand at the ITF World Cup (Oztag) in Ireland in August. For me this is really rewarding for all of the hard work I've put into getting to this point. It's been my goal to play in a World Cup of some sort and soon I'll be able to say that I've achieved that goal. BUT, the hard work doesn't stop! There's still a lot of prep to do before August.
Okay, we want to know about your music taste!
What style of music do you usually gravitate towards?
I love songs with a message or deeper meaning. Listening to artists express their struggles or highs in life helps motivate me with my day-to-day activities and also in the Rumble Room.
Who is your favourite artist of all time?
Probably The Kid LAROI.
What is your favourite song of all time?
All my life by K-Ci and JoJo.
What’s your dream theme class?
My dream class would be a '100% song requests' them. I want the InspireBox community to curate the vibes and how they feel in my class.
What about......
Your dream holiday?
New York for sure! Seeing it in the movies my whole life, I really want to experience it in person.
What are your hobbies?
Keeping fit, touch footy, and oz tag, just to name a few!
What’s your current tv obsession?
Brooklyn 99 for sure. I just started it, and I swear I can’t stop watching!
So... are you ready to RUMBLE?
